Common Avandia side effects lead to stronger label warnings

Avandia, used as part of an overall treatment plan for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, may cause or worsen heart failure. Patients experiencing any degree of poor heart pumping ability, shortness of breath, or edema cannot be prescribed Avandia. The most common side effects experienced when taking Avandia are: Upper respiratory infections, Upper and lower extremity bone fractures in women, Headache, Edema, Weight gain, Back pain, Anemia, Diarrhea and Hypoglycemia.
