Between September 11 and Veterans Day 2011, Home Depot will donate 5% of the amounts placed on the Celebration of Service gift card to the Home Depot Foundation to help with housing needs of United States military veterans. Home Depot gift cards may be loaded online or in stores through Veterans Day.
Various Home Depot volunteers throughout the country partnered with local nonprofit groups to spruce up local firehouses in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Plants and materials were donated by the local Home Depot stores, while the employees donated their time.
